Admissions
Process
Applying for admission is easy at NMMI!
Step 1: Submit an
application for admission
The easiest way to
submit your application is to apply online for free.
You may also
download a paper application and mail or fax to the
Admissions Office. However, please note all paper
applications will require a $85 application fee.
Step 2. Submit your official
transcripts
Junior college applicants must have
final high school transcript showing graduation date and
GPA or GED results and transcripts for any college work. Please
have transcripts sent directly to our office by the school. All
applicants may send partial/unofficial transcripts
or report cards to expedite the admissions process and
then have official transcripts sent at the completion of
the current semester.
Step 3.
Submit Standardized Test Results
Junior College applicants
please send SAT or ACT scores (TOEFL if International.) Scores may be sent directly to our office by the
testing service. The school code for ACT is 002644 and for SAT is
4534. We also accept scores reported on official school
transcripts.
High school applicants please have your school send any
standardized test scores along with your transcripts. High school
applicants are also required to come to campus and take the NMMI
administered Compass test. (Please contact us if you cannot come to
campus and we can discuss the option of finding a
testing center in your community.)
Step 4. Visit
the Post (Required for High School Applicants)
You can schedule your visit to campus
online right now or you can call us at 1-800-421-5376 to schedule or
get more information.
High School Applicants: You will
most likely wish to schedule your Compass test and
entrance interview at the same time as your campus
visit. Please contact the Admissions Office
at 1-800-421-5376 for further information on setting up
a campus visit, arranging testing time and entrance
interview.
Step 5. Submit All
Required Documentation
Physical Examination -
You may download
our
Physical Examination form and have you
physician complete it.
All cadets are required to participate in
certain physical activities (e.g. marching in parade formation with a rifle,
running the obstacle course, close order drill and intramural athletics),
all considered essential to the traditions of a military school.
Health and Consent
Form - Download the
Health and Consent form and make sure you to
sign the form. (If the applicant is under 18 years of age a parent or guardian must
sign.)
Immunization Records - New
Mexico state law requires
that all immunizations are up-to-date and on file prior to enrollment. We
also accept immunization records which are printed on your official
transcript.
Birth
Certificate - Please provide a copy of the
applicant's official birth certificate.
Proof of Medical
Insurance Coverage - Proof of Medical
Insurance is required before enrollment. Insurance may be
obtained through NMMI for Cadet Sickness Insurance for $304.00.
You can find more information by visiting the
Infirmary information section of the NMMI Web site.
Once we receive your application and the required
paperwork we will review your file, make our admission decision and notify
you of that decision.
And don't worry if
you forget a step, we'll keep track of your progress and
notify you of missing documentation or additional
information needed.
